• Has Kidney Problems: CRITICAL. Zoldonat is cleared by the kidneys. It is generally not recommended for patients with severe kidney impairment or failure. Your doctor will test your kidney function before every dose.

• Has Low Calcium (Hypocalcemia): You must not receive Zoldonat if your blood calcium is low. This must be corrected with supplements before treatment begins.

• Has Upcoming Dental Work: CRITICAL. Zoldonat can rarely cause osteonecrosis of the jaw (a serious bone disease). You should have a dental exam and complete any invasive procedures (like extractions) before starting. Inform your dentist that you are receiving this drug.

• Is Dehydrated: Being dehydrated before the infusion increases the risk of kidney damage.

• Is Pregnant or Breastfeeding: Zoldonat is not safe for use during pregnancy as it can harm the developing baby.

• Has Asthma: Specifically “aspirin-sensitive” asthma, as this medication can occasionally worsen respiratory symptoms.

Guidelines for Effectiveness

To ensure safety and maximize the benefits of Zoldonat 4mg, the following medical protocols must be followed.

• Administration: Zoldonat is for intravenous (IV) infusion only. It must be administered by a healthcare professional in a hospital or clinic. Never attempt to self-administer this medication.

• Infusion Duration: The infusion usually takes at least 15 minutes.

• Hydration: CRITICAL. You must drink at least 2 glasses of water (approx. 500ml) shortly before the infusion to stay well-hydrated and protect your kidneys. Continue to drink plenty of fluids throughout the day after the dose.

• Supplements: Unless you have high calcium due to cancer, your doctor will likely prescribe daily Calcium and Vitamin D supplements to be taken alongside this therapy to support bone building.

• Frequency: * For Osteoporosis: Usually given once a year (treatment) or once every two years (prevention).

  • For Cancer-related conditions: May be given more frequently, often every 3 to 4 weeks.

• Storage: The medicine is stored by the healthcare facility. If you are transporting it, keep it at room temperature (below 30°C) unless it is already opened, in which case it requires refrigeration.
